Van Staartjes is a NPO that aims to promote animal welfare, scientifically based. We start from the animal as a sentient being and approach it as best we can from their perspective. We communicate as a veterinarian and collaborate with different areas of expertise. The audiences we want to reach are both a broad social target audience, and the veterinarian, depending on the content and purpose. The topics are multifaceted (companion animals, farm animals, as well as lobsters and other species assumed to be sentient). We do this with opinion pieces, parliamentary follow-ups, science cafes, social media, and art combo science communications. Connecting, and in dialogue, we think solution-oriented whenever possible. Our ASBL is supported by art and music which are an essential component. Among other things, this sets us apart from traditional animal welfare organisations. All information www.vanstaartjes.be
